Barcelona manager Xavi is being rewarded with a new contract, and this will be formally completed in the next few days.
The Spaniard is set to sign fresh terms to take him to 2026, and after winning La Liga last season, the club have clear trust in him that he is the right man to lead the club going forward.
A report from AS has confirmed that a deal will be finalised in the coming days during the international break, and this new deal will be in the form of a two-year extension.
Whilst the overall package will be favourable to Xavi financially, it will also be structured in a way which will benefit the club during their difficult financial situation, as Xavi is leading the example of side vs self.
His current contract is set to run out at the end of the season, and this will now confirm his future will be at Barcelona.
Xavi’s impact at Barcelona
Barcelona won their first title in four years last season under Xavi, after an incredibly difficult period for the club.
Ronald Koeman and Quique Setien both had poor spells in charge, and influential players in Luis Suarez, Gerard Pique, Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba have all departed in recent years.

Xavi has had to oversee a rebuild of the squad during tough financial times, and has also helped the development of young stars in Pedri, Gavi, Alejandro Balde and more recently Lamine Yamal.
Whilst he has received criticism for some aspects of his tactics, as well as his poor record in the Champions League, he is a coach still growing in stature, and the team is now being built in his image. As one of the biggest legends in the history of Barcelona, he will now have more time to implement his vision and bring back the glory days to the Camp Nou.
