Joao Felix has made an instant impact at Barcelona, with the forward impressing since his late loan move from Atletico Madrid.
The Portugal International has been so impressive that his future at Barcelona has now been cast into doubt. The 23-year-old joined on loan without an option to buy, but his strong performances have meant that his price tag may now increase.
Speaking to Mundo Deportivo, Felix has claimed that his future at the club will depend on how Barcelona negotiate with Atletico Madrid.
“For me it depends on how the season ends. Afterwards, Barcelona is the one who has to negotiate with Atleti and that depends after Atleti, if they want to make things easier or not,” he stated.
“But those are business things, values, which I don’t get involved in. I do my job on the field, I try to do my best so that they want to sign me in the end and that thing about values, whether I go or not go or for how much, doesn’t suit me.”
Felix has transformed the team
Felix has been outstanding in both of his starts, with Barcelona beating Real Betis and Royal Antwerp 5-0 in both of his games.
The Portugal star joined the team which had at times, struggled for creativity, and striker Robert Lewandowski had even bemoaned the lack of service he was receiving.

Felix has been sharp in front of goal and has linked up well with his teammates. He is now thriving in a system that suits him under Xavi, and it is clear that Barcelona need to do their best to keep him around for the long term.
They will likely need to sort a deal soon to secure his future, as if his strong performances continue, Atletico will likely raise his price tag.
Barcelona are in a good position though, as Felix has previously claimed that Barcelona is his dream club, and so far it looks like a match made in heaven for both parties.
