Barcelona attacker Ansu Fati could be on the move this summer, with the wonderkid attracting transfer interest, and will be a move to keep an eye on for the rest of the transfer window.

That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who has claimed that whilst the 21-year-old is happy to stay at Barcelona, there are a number of clubs interested, and this could tempt them into a surprise sale this summer.

Fati has not enjoyed his best form since recovering from a long-term injury, but he is held in high regard at the club, who gave him Lionel Messi’s number 10 shirt following the departure of the Argentinian in 2021.

Romano has hinted that this interest in Fati could drag on for the summer, and it will be down to Barcelona whether or not they choose to let him go.

Patience required

Fati’s struggles since his recovery may only be temporary, and if he can return to his best, he has the talent to establish himself as a key player at Barcelona.

The loss of Ousmane Dembele only strengthens the need to keep him as a wide option, and if fans are patient with him, he can start to flourish again and reach his potential.

Xavi has described him as “extraordinary,” and it is clear that the manager rates him highly, despite his lack of consistency last season.

Fati has impressed in pre-season, and selling him now would go against Barcelona’s tradition of developing young talents from La Masia.

The Spain international deserves another season to prove his worth to Barcelona before a sale is even considered, and the club may also be reluctant to let a huge talent go despite the ongoing financial issues.

If Fati returns to his best, then any talk of a sale will vanish, and he can start to show why he was handed Messi’s shirt in the first place as one of Barcelona’s best academy products.
